New Friend

We went to Maryn's birthday party on Saturday and Kati Ann wasn't feeling her best (she has been cutting her last 1 yr molar) so she wasn't her usual social self. Most of the time she sat in my lap or stayed close to me. However, she asked down to walk around and of course that was fine. So, the next thing I knew she was over in my friend, Marcie's mom's lap. She had never met her before and I had only met her once before. Kati Ann saw her sitting over to the side and thought that she looked like a good lap to sit in and made herself at home. I thought it was precious.

Mmm....Free Ice Cream

Tonight, Cold Stone Creamery gave away FREE (F-R-E-E, that spells Free) ice cream. It was really neat because they were giving away new creations created by two kids in the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The one we tried was absolutely some of the best ice cream I've ever put in my mouth. I think it will be my new "flavor" when I go to Cold Stone. If you're wondering it was NutterButter ice cream with yellow cake mix, kit-kat, and white chocolate chips. Yummy!

Oh...making memories

So if you can remember reading in earlier blogs that my Mountaineer was having a hard time...well, it finally gave up and we had to have the transmission rebuilt. So, we've been a one car family since Monday. Well, Kati Ann & I needed a ride home from Bible Study on Thursday and since our friends (and neighbors) were there they were willing to let us pile in their car for a lift home. Kati Ann and Thomas rode in the backseat together. Thomas wanted to hold hands with Kati Ann so bad. She went along for awhile but could only handle so much! (sounds like her Momma!) We had fun making memories with our sweet friends and hope to get our Mountaineer back this afternoon!!

Kati Ann is really starting to communicate with words. I'm going to try to remember all the things she's saying now. She has said a few other things but I tried to put the ones that she says regularly.

Playing

Yesterday afternoon Jared had a little work to get done at the church so Kati Ann and I decided to go play in the playground at the church while Jared worked. We've done this before but it wasn't THIS much fun. She's getting big enough to play on her own. In fact, I took her up so she could go down the slide and then I was running around to be at the bottom so she could slide to me but by the time I got there she had already slid down!! She's not afraid of anything! Her daddy came and joined us and they slid down together! I took these pictures on my phone and I couldn't believe how good they turned out! Who needs a fancy camera :)!!
