Kie's First Camp

Wow!! What a summer we've had! Besides having a baby right before the summer began, we did our normal summer activities which includes: Bible School for me (150 Preteens), Camp for Jared, Mission Trip for Jared, Camp for Me & a trip to TX which included Jared preaching a youth camp in San Antonio. We also managed to have company every week we were home except one (I think). One of the cool things about camp this year, was getting to take Kie to camp. I know you must think I'm absolutely crazy for taking a brand new baby to camp on top of having to be in charge of a camp (that we put on ourselves), not to mention the germs from a bunch of preteens!
It sounds crazy & I probably would think someone was crazy if I had heard of them doing it myself, however, for me it was a huge blessing. The summer after I had KA, I was still nursing her but didn't have the option of taking her with me to camp. So, I pumped enough to be gone a week and pumped the entire week I was at camp. It was a challenge to say the least. So, when I knew that I had the option of taking Kie to camp, I was determined to figure out a way to do it. The camp itself is not very conducive to having a baby in a cabin but they have RV hookups. We have some wonderful friends (the Dave Ward family) that allowed us to borrow their RV & then another wonderful friend (Angela Edwards) took a week off of work to be the "nanny" at camp. So, Kie was well taken care of and I was able to feed him throughout the week & still do my job! It was a huge success!
