Today is exactly one month until Kati Ann's 2nd birthday & today is also Ms. Alesia's birthday. So in celebration & anticipation of both, Kati Ann put on this silly Happy Birthday cake hat! Happy Birthday Ms. Alesia!
We've now enjoyed about 3 weeks with our sweet new puppy that is at this point probably having an identity crisis. Her first name was Mindy but we changed it the first day to Minnie. However, Kati Ann insists her name is Billie! So Jared & I are giving in and calling the dog Billie after trying for at least a week of trying to hang on to Minnie. We still call her Minnie every once in a while but I think we're going to give in and officially change her name to Billie! In this picture, Billie is playing in the "sea of leaves" at the Watkins' house and loving it!!
We were out walking in our neighborhood and passed by our good friends, the Watkins' house and KA was invited to come play in the mud with her friend Phomas aka Thomas! I was surprised that she actually played in the mud because she often doesn't like having her hands dirty but she had a blast!
Today was bittersweet because we gained a new addition to our family while losing another. With great sadness, we said "Goodbye" to our precious Bailey. Jared took her this morning to the vet to have her put down. We've known since Christmas that we were going to have to do it and we finally did. As I told Bailey when I told her goodbye, I'm thankful for the unconditional love, fun & comfort she's given us. She was a precious part of our family & it was difficult to say goodbye. The sweet part of the day came in the form of an 8-week Morkie that we named Minnie (we've changed it from Mindy already). A morkie is a mix between a Yorkie & Maltese and is considered a designer breed. She's a sweetie that we are already giving our hearts to. She is 2lbs. now and will probably grow to be no more than 7lbs. She had been out in the rain when I took these pictures that's why she looks wet!
It has been a rough week for Kati Ann and those that care for her (that would be me and Jared). Poor thing began getting sick and I did all I knew to do to help her but finally took her to the doctor to find out that she had the flu. Thanks to some Tamiflu & lots of love we're starting to see some real improvement. I'm hoping by tomorrow we'll be almost back to normal. We'll see
February 28th we celebrated the marriage of Karen & David. It was such a sweet time to be with my sweet cousins that stood next to me as I joined my life with Jared & began this wonderful journey. Here's to the beginning of a wonderful journey for Karen & David
