Frances Wiggs Grayson 1926-2010

On October 27, 1926, my dear friend, mentor and beloved grandmother entered the world. She taught me about love, commitment, and keeping the promises you make. My MaMa always took time to listen and genuinely cared about more than a surface level relationship. She cared about how we felt and wanted to know what we thought about things.
I have such wonderful memories with her as a child. She didn't miss anything that we were doing!
In 1996, MaMa contracted an illness that left her in a wheelchair until she died 14 years later. Even in a wheelchair, she made the effort to be involved in our lives. She watched Marcus' football games from the bleachers in her chair and saw us both graduate from high school from that chair. We'd go out to eat and go shopping and she did it all from that chair.
On September 10, 2010 around 11 p.m. she WALKED unassisted on streets of gold and saw her own beloved mother, her sisters, brother, friends that had gone before her and her Savior.
Without question, I will miss her dreadfully, but I celebrate the life she lived and more importantly, I celebrate her victory over pain and suffering as she now STANDS before her Jesus.
I love you, MaMa!

Oh BA I know it is a bitter sweet time for you. I know there must be joy in knowing she is in no pain and dancing at the feet of Jesus. How sweet it is to know that your children were able to meet her and you have such great pictures to document that time. Hugs to you sweet friend. May the Lord be with you and your family.

What a treasure...thank you for sharing even in your grief. You have been given quite a legacy and I have no doubt you'll leave one equally as wonderful. (As I typed those words a memory of you singing "Legacy" on stage at FHBC came to my mind...those were sweet days as well.)

Love you much~R
