What she's saying

Kati Ann is really starting to communicate with words. I'm going to try to remember all the things she's saying now. She has said a few other things but I tried to put the ones that she says regularly.

Babo or Baboo=Diaper
Babby=Bailey
Banny= Barney
Bye Bye
ba=ball
(noticing a theme of B's?)
Kitty
No
Momma
Daddy
Dgo=go
Lo=Let's go
He ya o=Here ya go
Hey
Heyyo=Hello
see=paci
read
boom (she says this when she falls down)
no=nose
eat

As I think of more I'll add them but I thought it would be fun for you to know what she's saying

Playing

Yesterday afternoon Jared had a little work to get done at the church so Kati Ann and I decided to go play in the playground at the church while Jared worked. We've done this before but it wasn't THIS much fun. She's getting big enough to play on her own. In fact, I took her up so she could go down the slide and then I was running around to be at the bottom so she could slide to me but by the time I got there she had already slid down!! She's not afraid of anything! Her daddy came and joined us and they slid down together! I took these pictures on my phone and I couldn't believe how good they turned out! Who needs a fancy camera :)!!

Hey, do you see that?

While playing with our friends, Kati Ann and Maryn sat together looking at their reflections in the little pond.

The Girls

Kati Ann and I have a lot of fun together. In fact, when I consider this amazing relationship I have with a daughter I know I am blessed. Forever, I will be her mom and she will be my daughter. Everyday she changes and grows and obviously this is just the beginning of a lifetime but I cherish these days that I hear her say, "Momma! Momma! Momma!" and hear the pitter patter of the little feet running down the hallway looking for me while I try go to the bathroom in peace. She is such a joy.

Cowboy Pot Roast

I made a delicious recipe tonight that I found on another blog. If you know anything about the way I cook (I take after my mom) and I don't follow the directions exactly. But here is the recipe and the way that I made it.

1.5 tsp salt
1.5 tsp pepper
1 (14.5 oz) petite diced tomatoes, drained
1 can rotel
1 onion (cut into wedges)
1 Tbsp chili powder
1 (2.5-3 lb) eye of round roast
2 cans pinto beans, drained
1 can black beans, drained

Trim fat off of roast. Mix salt, pepper, tomatoes, rotel. Pour tomato mixture over roast in crock pot. Add onion, cover and cook on HIGH for 5-6 hours.
Remove roast from slow cooker and cut into large chunks.
Stir in black beans & pintos. Add roast pieces back to the crockpot; cover and cook on HIGH 20-25 min.
Now add some cornbread!! Enjoy!!

p.s. I thought this picture was cute with the boston terrier just to remind you of our sweet "firstborn" Bailey

What is that in there?

We went to play with our friends Tait, Maryn & Shepherd with their mom, Marcie. Shepherd is 5 months old and was in the stroller most of the time we played. She was fascinated with what was in that stroller. I told her it was a "baby" and so she said "baby" over and over. She thought Shepherd was pretty cool.

Squooshed Bug?

So Kati Ann and I went tonight and bought her halloween costume. She's going to be a ladybug. We got home and almost immediately I got her in the bathtub. When she got out I thought we'd try on the costume. I sat her down and started pulling it over her head and you'd think I was squooshing our ladybug!! She wasn't going to have any part of it. She was howling like a dog!! So we have a lonely costume that we haven't tried on. Hopefully, we'll have better luck later (at least by halloween). I'll keep you posted.
