The Red Bow
I've been meaning to post about this for a while. Kati Ann is a creature of habit. She likes things to do things the same way each time we do it. So, lots of mornings Jared & Kati Ann go down stairs to have cereal and juice while I shower or get a little extra sleep. I have requested that Jared always pull Kati Ann's hair back when she eats so that her hair isn't sticky when I try to fix it later and it keeps her from screaming (as much).
Most mornings, Jared would forget to get a bow before coming downstairs and he quickly got tired of having to run upstairs to get a bow every morning. So being innovative, Jared introduced Kati Ann to the "Red Bow". It is a magnet that stays on our refrigerator and every morning he pulls her hair back with it. After finishing her cereal, Kati Ann removes her "bow" and returns it to a specific spot on the refrigerator.
On mornings when I am downstairs doing cereal & juice (we could serve something different for breakfast but right now it has to be cereal and juice because she's quite the creature of habit), I will try to put her hair up with an actual hair bow and she insists on the "Red Bow."
Oh, the memories you make with Daddy!

Roll Tide?
Just so we're clear...we are Texans from Texas. We have no feelings one way or another towards an Alabama football team. However, tonight at dinner, Kati Ann looked at Jared and I and said "Roll Tide!" We both looked at her and had to have her repeat it. She again said "Roll Tide!" We were surprised and began to laugh. Of course our laughing was encouragement for her to continue saying it over and over. We're not sure exactly who taught her to say this but we find it humorous! I know a few people around here that will be quite pleased.

Yum! Yum! Yum!
One of the "perks" of being involved in student ministry is having the pleasure of knowing about the silly things kids are into. A student sent this song to Jared and he played it for Kati Ann and she thinks its GREAT! She asks him repeatedly to play "Yum! Yum!" on his phone so she can sing with it. As silly as this song is, it is quite catchy and I, regrettably, find myself humming it throughout the day!
Watch Out Emeril!
Kati Ann LOVES to cook! We cook a lot around here since she's developed such an interest in cooking. Tonight we experimented with a recipe that was sent home in her bag at school on Monday. It is easy and delicious. Thought I'd share this fun recipe with you!

The BIG Walk
Lots of afternoons after naptime, KA and I like to take Billie for a walk. KA has been telling me the last few times we've been walking that she wants to walk instead of ride in the stroller. So, today I decided to let her walk. She was a real trooper...she walked almost an entire mile on her own. Thankfully, Jared was with us and she rode on his shoulders for the last stretch. As she can see from the picture, she insisted on wearing her jacket backwards and is wearing my toboggan because we couldn't find her's. She looked pretty adorable walking down the street like a big girl.
