Flowers in our "Garden"
Today was a beautiful day to plant flowers in our "garden." It just so happens that apparently planting flowers is dangerous work and requires a helmet. Here is some of our work!

Easter Egg Hunt
Our church does a FABULOUS Easter Egg Hunt for the preschoolers the day before Easter every year. This year was very fun though they had to move the "party" inside because of rain. They incorporated a puppet show which was actually the highlight for Kati Ann and she got to be there with two of her favorite friends, Katie Bug and Addison.

Last Date Night with just the Two of Them
Last night was my monthly Bunco night with the girls. Jared & Kati Ann love Bunco nights because they go on "dates". They usually try out some eatery they haven't tried before. Last night they tried a Mexican food place I had never heard of and then went to pick out flowers for the flower bed. Kati Ann has been wanting to plant "purple flowers" in our "garden" so they had fun shopping for flowers. They finished the night with Kati Ann getting a bubble bath! She thought it was great.
I reminded Jared before I left that this would be their last Bunco date night just the two of them. By the time I go to Bunco again there will be three of them going on a date!

Afternoon with Daddy
The Spring weather has been absolutely beautiful. Jared played golf Monday morning and Kati Ann wanted to know where her daddy was. When I told her he was playing golf, she told me she wanted to play golf with Daddy. So, when Jared got home and Kati Ann got up from her nap the two of them went outside and played golf. The two of them are so crazy about each other.

Getting ready for Baby
My precious Bible Study leader made Kati Ann a baby sling for her dolls so she will have one like me when I'm carrying Kie. We practiced with it this morning and she thought it was SOOOO cool. We're in full gear getting ready for our little guy. Not much longer!
**On a side note: KA did have a run in with the pavement that led to that terrible spot on her forehead...Jared was devastated but after the initial "crash", a little extra TLC & some tylenol she's fine and has completely forgotten that she has a bump on her head though knowing her she won't forget the incident itself. She'll talk about it for weeks and months to come.

Making Memories with MaMa
The picture is poor quality because it came from my dad's cell phone but this is a picture that I hope Kati Ann will cherish for years. Kati Ann has spent the week with my parents in Kilgore this past week. My MaMa (my mom's mom) now lives in Kilgore in a nursing home in deteriorating health. The truth is we really don't know how much longer we have with MaMa because she's going down quickly but my prayer is that Kati Ann will have some memory of this amazing woman. I appreciate how hard my mom has worked to have Kati Ann with MaMa when she's been in Texas.

LOST!

So, I don't actually watch the show LOST, though I know that there are those that do and schedule their week around seeing the new episodes. I get that...I have my own shows I like to watch though due to a certain little girl I have to DVR and wait to watch sometimes a week late. But, back to the point that has absolutely nothing to do with TV shows.
Today, is 5 weeks to the day until my due date and I am in full "preparation" mode. I've pulled out all sorts of things we had from having KA. I've done some shopping, we've painted the nursery and we are well on our way. However, as I've journeyed through this process of preparing for our little Kie-man, I've discovered some pretty important things that we have not been able to locate. Jared & I have searched high and low (the attic and the garage) along with any available box we can find to no avail. (Reminder: we moved in September so things have gotten shifted around!) However, we have managed to misplace one item that is at this point irreplaceable. What could be irreplaceable you ask? Well, the rods to the crib. We went to put together the crib last night and discovered that we had all the parts except the rods. These are the steel rods that hold the sides of the crib to the ends (kind of important).
So, Jared got all the information (model no., etc) and called the company this morning to try to order replacement parts and discovered that they don't make them anymore and even if they did they couldn't sell them to us because our crib is "older" and the technology now is newer and safer. Blah. Blah. Blah. We were blessed to be given the crib and changing table we have so we don't have any money invested in it but still...we're now in search for a "new" crib. If you have any suggestions...we're open.
