A Bittersweet Day

Today was bittersweet because we gained a new addition to our family while losing another. With great sadness, we said "Goodbye" to our precious Bailey. Jared took her this morning to the vet to have her put down. We've known since Christmas that we were going to have to do it and we finally did. As I told Bailey when I told her goodbye, I'm thankful for the unconditional love, fun & comfort she's given us. She was a precious part of our family & it was difficult to say goodbye.
The sweet part of the day came in the form of an 8-week Morkie that we named Minnie (we've changed it from Mindy already). A morkie is a mix between a Yorkie & Maltese and is considered a designer breed. She's a sweetie that we are already giving our hearts to. She is 2lbs. now and will probably grow to be no more than 7lbs. She had been out in the rain when I took these pictures that's why she looks wet!

Sorry about the loss of your other dog... I know that's hard.
Minnie is a cutie pie! If we ever get a dog, I hope it is one like her!

I am SO SORRY about your sweet dog baby! I know how hard it is to say good-bye. I did not know she was sick. Is your new baby one of Deanna's? I think I got to love on the puppy Wednesday night. And of course I LOVE the new name! You just need to get a boy and name him Mickey!

Oh friend...I'm so sorry. She was your "firstborn" child. I do understand how much a part of the family she was. We still haven't told our kids that we put Ebony down. She was sick and dying. They knew it could be any day...but in the end, I couldn't watch her suffer. They think she went peacefully...we never said otherwise. Is that wrong? I don't know. Bailey will never be replaced, but this new sweet one will help with the sorrow. She's a cutie.
