So before we destroyed KA's bathroom and I destroyed my arm, KA & I painted with shaving cream. I even found neon colors.
(sidenote: bathroom is about 90% done & usable...pictures one day)
Everyday with our Kati Ann & Kie is an adventure. Join us as the adventure unfolds!

See this hole...apparently I did't
So we took out the subfloor of the bathroom and last night we demoed the bathtub and I went in to help take out pieces of the bathtub and even though Jared reminded me that the floor was gone I fell through and caught myself with a floor joist under my right arm. I immediately heard the sound of something pop. We headed to the emergency room and I have broken my arm above my elbow. So I have 6 weeks of healing and certainly debilitated in virtually all of my tasks that require two arms. Yuck!

A Week Minus One
Kati Ann is spending the week in Texas with GrandAnn & Bob Bob and while she is there we decided to take the opportunity to remodel her bathroom. We spent the day yesterday doing demo which took a long time (longer than I had hoped). The bathtub isn't coming out until tonight but here are some pictures of our work from yesterday. Jared did most of it but I was the one that made the bizzilion trips out to the trash pile with debris. I'll keep you posted on the progress throughout the week.

Thanksgiving Fun
We made a whirlwind trip to TX where we were able to visit almost all of our family and boy, did Kati Ann have a blast especially with both of her grandfathers. She had so much fun playing with her Poppa in Carthage and she even got to ride a tractor with her "Bob Bob" in Bryan. We were really glad we made the effort to drive all the way to Texas and all over once we were there because we really enjoyed seeing our family. Here are a few pictures to confirm our fun!

Thanks J.Crew
The J. Crew catalog was in our mailbox the other day and as I looked through it I realized that it would be fun for Kati Ann and I to dress a stick figure. We talked about what each piece of clothing was and where they went. I then let her glue the pieces of clothes on our little man. (I helped too) As a girl after my own heart her favorite were the shoes. She can pick out shoes anywhere. She often walks up to people and bends down touches their shoes and says "Shoes!" We even put silly eyes on our dressed man. That was fun!

Our first child
Especially for our friends that have known us before we had Kati Ann you may be wondering about our first child. We seldom talk about her anymore but our Bailey is still as sweet as ever. She is so patient with Kati Ann especially since Kati An loves to say "Bailey, NO!!" and chase her around the house. We're trying to work on "Good Dog, Bailey" It is taking a little work but one day maybe! Bailey is getting a little gray around the eyes but we're so blessed with such a precious family animals included.
First School Craft
Kati Ann brought home her first craft project from school a little over a week ago (I'm a little behind) and as her mother I was thoroughly impressed. Not because she could put stickers on a paper but because of where she put them. Her teachers just handed her the stickers and she got to choose where they went. It looks like the leaves where we live. A few on the trees, a few falling and most on the ground. I am very proud!

Frugal Eye Wear
Most of you probably don't know about my newest addiction to Jon & Kate + 8 but as Jared will tell you I am ADDICTED!! But on top of being addicted I have also been inspired. Kate works really hard to live very frugal even with 8 kids, Kate feeds them only organically because she works to find the deals. My newest deal find came from reading another blog where I discovered VERY reduced prices on eye wear. It was time for me to go to the eye doctor and so instead of getting new glasses at the eye doctor where they are super expensive I visited Zenni Optical and got some great glasses for a fraction of the price (that really sounded like a sales ad). The trick is that you can't try them on. So, I measured my current glasses so I would have a good idea what size frames worked for my face. I wish I had measured my lenses too (but live and learn) because the 2nd pair as you can see have a little bit bigger lense than I would like but the first pair is adorable! I just love them.

Taking Over
Kati Ann sometimes spends some time in the church office while Jared and I run around getting things done. She thoroughly enjoys hanging out with the precious staff at the church. These pictures were taken by Charlotte in her office where Charlotte lets her take over for a little while...I don't know where she would get the desire to take over!! ;)
Fun at Mrs. Charlotte's house
These pictures are a few weeks old. Kati Ann went to Mrs. Charlotte's house (one of the amazing ladies that serves on the support staff at our church) to play for a few hours. Two of her friends, Laramie and Stephen were there too. Kati Ann thought Mrs. Charlotte's house was very fun and as you can see enjoyed playing with Stephen (and Laramie)

Man, have I changed since I was young
What American accent do you have? Your Result: The Midland "You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. | |

Ever have one of those days? Part 2
Kati Ann did. For some reason yesterday she had a hard time walking. She kept falling. She fell several times but the final blow that gave her the black eye you see happened at Wal-Mart when Jared put her down to let her walk and she fell straight into the shelf. Today she's been fine. I think her balance was just off for some reason. Poor thing :(

Ever have one of those days?
I have to laugh...I just got my vehicle back yesterday and we returned to being a 2 car family...aaahhh... luxury. So, I go to get in the car this afternoon to go do something that I would really enjoy and can you guess what happened? That's right it won't start. It won't even turn over. I told Jared what sound it was making and he says its either the starter or alternator. So, thankfully we have roadside assistance and they came and towed my car to a local garage. Hopefully I will get it back soon!! Obviously, God thinks I need to sit at home a little bit more.
My mama is blogging this!
Work For Gas
Kati Ann and I went walking the other day and as we passed by a house and saw this license's plate. It made me think of the different things that we might work for...I think mine is naps. What about you what would you work for? Chocolate, Dr. Pepper, Scrapbooking? With all the negativity with the economy and all I thought it would be fun to hear things that you'd work for.
